W. B. Njeru was born on 17 February 1996, one fateful morning under the concave morning sky of Kerugoya, Kirinyaga County. A Christian, and lover of Lore – He grew up in a small village/town called Mbiri where the very imagery of the locations mentioned in the BOOK/s came to life.
Having attempted to make several small stories while growing up, among them ‘The Chaptered’ and ‘Secrets’, he also had a fascination with comic books, even making his own titles like ‘The Everlasts’ and ‘Kairu Grey’.
He attended High school in Kerugoya Boys High School, where as a young fellow, he became quite popular for his budding gift in art, illustrating weekly comics like ‘Sista Sista’ and also indulging in a weekly chaptered novel, written as drafts in his exercise books.
He studied for a Diploma in Civil Engineering, but his love for music flunk him into the world of Radio, slowly bringing back his creative side.
The Advent of the Arikana books started 8 years ago, with original manuscripts lost in a laptop robbery that birthed a new, well-informed version of the story now enjoyed by the likes of you, dear reader.
This is an expression of both belief and perspective.
His books have also part of the Library Of Congress, as part of their global cultural collection. They’re now available in various libraries and Universities across America, including, Columbia (NY), Stanford (CA), and Princeton (NJ) Universities. https://search.worldcat.org/title/1397055453
